The annual German beer festival is celebrated in style across the British capital, with brilliantly organised events dotted all over. Oktoberfest East at Oval Space, E2

The vast and versatile Oval Space is to be transformed into a wonderland of Oktoberfestivities from 28th September. If you are looking for an authentic experience be sure to head East, this is the only London spot serving up the official Oktoberfest beer – Hacker-Pschorr. Park your behind on a traditional bierkeller bench and enjoy a stein of Munich’s finest, brought to you by servers kitted out in full leidenhausen. With music from Hackney Colliery Band, street food treats will be in abudance, as well as an amazing three course Bavarian menu created by The Art of Dining collective. Oktober Feast at Hawker House, Canada Water

As expected Hawker House, the home of Street Feast, will be the hotspot for those looking to sample Bavarian treats of the edible variety. Twelve of London’s favourite food traders will be setting up over the course of the next few weeks, which means meat, meat and more meat. Not neglecting the beer focus of this holiday, Hawker House have taken the opportunity to celebrate craft beers from all over the world, boasting a selection of 50 brews from the UK, US and Germany.

London Oktoberfest, Millwall Park, Canary Wharf

This year’s biggest Oktoberfest celebrations in not only London but the whole of the UK, is taking place in Millwall Park from September 29th – October 9th. Now in it’s sixth year, London Oktoberfest is returning to serve up a number of special German lagers during their stint in Canary Wharf. German beer, sausage and music will fill the 3,300 capacity tent, resulting in scenes not unlike a busy bierhaus in Munich.

Hoxtoberfest, Hoxton Docks

For two days at the end of October (20th – 22nd) Hoxton Docks are hosting their very own Hoxtoberfest. Turning their conveniently apt timber house into a traditional alpine chalet, the space will be filled with long tables and benches, and enough Erdinger to quench the thirst of a small army. There will also be a Fritz Kola Berlin themed bar set up alongside the canal, offering innovative cocktail alternatives.

If you were hoping to simply sink some bier in a pub to celebrate this year’s Oktoberfest, this Bavarian pub on Fulham Road is the place for you!
